Comet Holmes/17P
Comet 17P/Holmes shocked astronomers on October 24/25th with a spectacular eruption, brightening almost a million-fold from 17th to 2.5th magnitude in a matter of hours.

While processing the image I noticed if I pushed the levels that there was a green ring around the comet but did not know if that was an artifact of the image processing. Since seeing Chris Schur's excellent image of the comet which also shows the green the green ring I've reprocessed my image to allow the green around the coma to stand out more.
